This map is a real celebration of New Zealand's iconic mountains, rugged wilderness and historic towns, hand-drawn over 80 hours in a Tolkien style.
These beautifully made prints are perfect for those who want a special art piece to celebrate New Zealand, either for their own homes or as a gift for someone special.
Limited numbers: as an individual artist I can only produce maps in small numbers. Print numbers are limited.
Locally made: I have partnered with boutique printing companies in Auckland and Sydney to make sure your NZ map print is produced locally and goes directly to supporting a local business.
Add a Personalisation: if you would like me to add a special marker for your home, a particular town or anything that is significant for you, please order an A1 size and then email me using this contact form with your personalisation request (the A1 size is necessary as this allows enough space to make these kinds of additions).
A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST OF THE NZ MAP
I was lucky enough to travel around New Zealand for 8 weeks to do some in-person exploration for this particular map. NZ's beauty is just breathtaking and was extra special due to it being the location for much of the filming for the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. It has been an absolute privilege to draw and I hope I have managed to capture some of the magic of this great land!
On the map the South Island is dominated by the immensity of the Southern Alps and the majesty of the Fiordlands National Park, with many of its iconic towns dotted throughout. Besides the larger population areas like Christchurch and Queenstown, you will find many characterful smaller towns likes Wanaka, Cardrona, Te Anau and Fox Glacier also feature. The South Island's famous lakes are all on there, as is the Abel Tasman to the North.
On the North Island you'll find places like the iconic Mount Taranaki, Mount Ruapehu, lake Taupo, Kaweka National Park, the Bay of Plenty and Bay of Island to name just a few. Cape Reinga can be found at the extreme north and many islands dot the coast, including Poor Knights Islands. Besides the large cities of Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton and Tauranga, there are also many smaller towns included. I've also put in some special markers for unique places like Hobbiton and Tane Mahuta, the largest kauri tree in NZ and know as "God of the Forest".
